At Orange County Garage Doors, we stand behind every job we do. This page explains what our warranties cover, the different types of protection that may apply to your garage door, and how to request service if something isn’t working the way it should.
Our Warranty Commitment
Orange County Garage Doors Inc. has proudly served Orange County, California since 2014. We are a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor (CSLB License #994802), and we believe your peace of mind matters just as much as the quality of our work.
Every warranty we provide is honored exactly as stated on your written estimate and/or invoice. Because every project is different, the specific length and terms of your coverage are spelled out in writing on those documents at the time of your service. We encourage you to keep your estimate and invoice in a safe place, as they are your record of the protection that applies to your job.
The sections below describe the types of warranties that may apply. The general ranges we mention are common across the industry and are provided only as helpful guidance. The binding terms for your project are always the ones written on your invoice.
Labor / Workmanship Warranty
Our labor and workmanship warranty covers the quality of the installation or repair work performed by our technicians. If a problem arises because of how the work was done, we’ll come back and make it right.
As general industry guidance, labor and workmanship warranties commonly range from 30 to 90 days, though the exact term for your job is stated in writing on your estimate and/or invoice. Please refer to those documents for the coverage that applies to your specific service.
Garage Door Warranty
When we install a new garage door, the door itself is typically backed by a warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This protects you against issues that stem from the door’s manufacturing or our installation rather than everyday wear or outside damage.
Garage doors also often carry a separate warranty directly from the manufacturer, which can vary widely by brand and model. The specific coverage and term for your door are confirmed in writing on your estimate and/or invoice, and we’re always happy to walk you through what applies.
Spring Warranty
Garage door springs do the heavy lifting every time your door opens and closes, so we want you to feel confident in the ones we install. Our spring warranty applies to both torsion springs (mounted on a shaft above the door) and extension springs (mounted along the tracks), covering defects under normal operating conditions.
As a general guideline, springs and similar parts commonly carry warranties ranging from 1 to 5 years, depending on the type and grade of spring installed. The exact warranty term for your springs is stated in writing on your estimate and/or invoice.
Opener Warranty
Garage door openers are precision pieces of equipment, and most are backed primarily by the manufacturer’s warranty. Coverage commonly ranges anywhere from roughly 1 to 10 years depending on the brand, model, and which components are involved (for example, motors, belts, and accessories may each have different terms).
We’ll help you understand the manufacturer’s coverage for your opener and assist you in using it when needed. The labor portion of any opener service follows our workmanship warranty as described above. As always, the specific terms that apply to you are confirmed in writing on your estimate and/or invoice.
Parts Warranty
Replacement parts we install, such as rollers, cables, hinges, brackets, weather seals, and similar hardware, are covered against defects under normal use. Many of these parts follow the manufacturer’s warranty, which can range from roughly 1 to several years.
Because coverage differs from part to part, the warranty term for any specific component is stated in writing on your estimate and/or invoice. If you ever have a question about whether a part is covered, just reach out and we’ll be glad to clarify.
Manufacturer Warranty Information
Many garage doors, openers, and individual parts carry their own separate warranties directly from the manufacturer, in addition to the workmanship warranty we provide on our installation. These manufacturer warranties are issued by the brand that made the product and are governed by that company’s terms.
- Manufacturer warranty lengths vary widely by brand, model, and component, which is why we point you to the specific terms in writing on your estimate and/or invoice.
- Where applicable, we recommend registering your product with the manufacturer to activate or extend coverage, and we’re happy to help you do so.
- If you ever need to make a manufacturer warranty claim, we’ll help you navigate the process and put your coverage to use.
Warranty Exclusions
Our warranties are designed to cover defects in materials and the quality of our work under normal use. They do not cover problems caused by circumstances outside our control. The following situations are generally not covered:
Damage Caused by Misuse or Neglect
Coverage does not apply to damage from improper use, lack of routine maintenance, forcing a door or opener, or operating the system in a way it was not designed for.
Accidents & Impact
Damage from accidents or impact, such as a vehicle backing into the door or other physical collisions, is not covered under our warranty.
Natural Disasters & Acts of Nature
Damage caused by storms, floods, earthquakes, high winds, power surges, lightning, and other acts of nature or events beyond our control falls outside warranty coverage.
Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications
Repairs, alterations, or modifications performed by anyone other than Orange County Garage Doors will void the affected coverage. Work done by others, or unapproved changes to the system, are not covered.
In addition, our warranties do not cover normal wear and tear over time, rust or corrosion resulting from environmental conditions, or problems caused by improper operation of the door or opener. For full details, please refer to your written estimate and/or invoice.
